We briefly covered how William Henry Gates III Got started, so i wanted to know more about his company and what they have done over the years. The Company was founded in 1975 and got into the software business. they started with basic interceptors and moved on with MS-DOS ( Microsoft Disk Operating System) and then moved into the windows series. With windows came all the names that we are more familiar with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and a couple of more that gave us all trouble. In My opinion the best thing about windows is that you get some programs like Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word which help out a lot with homework.
For the Gamers in the class i did not forget that they also came out with a game council that has had much success, which is the X-Box and also X-Box 360. The Game council was launched in 2001 and later replaced with the new and improved X-Box 360 in 2005. With all that they still had some ideas left to introduce an MP3 player called the Zune

I find it very interesting that Microsoft went to a gaming system after doing computers for so long. I guess all a gaming system is is a mini computer just for games. Although, now they can go on the internet and play games. I suppose that this isn't such a stretch from a computer.
ReplyDeleteBill Gates is a remarkable guy. It is amazing how a company like Microsoft can be so influential on the entire world throughout the 90s and 00s. The xbox has to be one of the best things Microsoft has done. With such a loyal fan base and the amazing game play. I cannot wait to see what Microsoft will do next.
ReplyDeleteI always wondered why Microsoft would attempt to enter the computer entertainment industry. Apparently, whatever they saw and acted on paid off, since the XBox product line has been decently lucrative. The console gaming market is strange for sure.
ReplyDeleteIts so funny that all of us have heard of Microsoft, in fact hardly a day goes by in which we don't use a Microsoft product, yet most of us haven't a clue how it all got started. Yes, we all know of Bill Gates and the basic upstart story, but how many of us actually research how this company came to be?Its really quite amazing that a company that impacts our lives so regularly is really such a mystery to most of us. Reading your blog really helped get a basic understanding of Microsoft's basic timeline.
