Blog Post #1

Hello, my name is Asia Rush and I am a senior here at Eastern Michigan. My major is marketing. I’m a very outgoing person who loves to sing, dance, and hang around fun people who make me laugh. I’m new to this blogging thing so I don’t really know what to expect. Hopefully this new experience will help me learn something I wasn’t that interested in at first.

Coming into this class, I thought it was going to be a computing class where we utilized the computers to learn how to use different programs. I soon found out that what I thought was not the case. Although the class wasn’t what I expected at first, I’m open to learning more about this subject. Especially since it talks about how the computers we use today have evolved over time.

One of the things that interested me the most was that reason why computer were created in the first place. With the way we use computers today, I would have never guessed that the idea to create a computer came about just to do math. It amazes me to see how a computer students carry around on campus came from a very large, non portable thing that took up the space of an entire room.

  2. Hi Asia, my name is Spencer and after reading what you wrote I wanted to comment on it. I have to say that IS 215 is different from what I was originally expecting. I thought we were all going to be on computers and have interactive learning. Clearly I was wrong. I also wanted to say that I also had no idea that computers were first created for the simple art of solving math problems. Anyways, I thought I would just take the opportunity to introduce myself and say I liked your first Blog. Best of luck to you this semester.
