Since I have rejoined the academic community, after 30 years, my views on progress have changed. Many people in my age range say, "Enough is enough." Fortunately, I have never been of that mentality. Technology has made a real advancement in my years on this earth. Things that make me say "WOW", people your age take for granted, and accept as an everyday occurence.
One day I received an interesting email from a friend. It was about the computers of the future, which really intrigued me. These particular computers, called P-ISM, are the size of pens. They work in cinjuction with Blue Tooth technology. As of this date, they are not for sale to the public. The price for the prototype is $30,000.
When I was born there was a classification of people that were, "Born with a silverspoon in their mouth." I would say a new saying that people are, "Born with technology at their fingertips." My father has never "touched" a computer. I only excel to the point I do with assistance from my son. My grandchildren use the computer like it isn't even there. This class has definitely increased my knowledge of computers and technology.
