This is my first real blogging experience. I have done a small amount of blogging before on the social networking sites MySpace and Facebook, but nothing like this before. Some friends of mine have done more extensive blogging however, including on Blog Spot.
So far in class, we have discussed the history of technology. Personally, I find this information to be quite interesting. It is nice to know what my tech friends have been talking about for all of these years! It is amazing to me how much technology has shaped our society. If it weren't for all of those pioneers, we wouldn't have the quality of life that we have today. There wouldn't be iPods, cell phones, computers, television, dvd players, or any of the other things that we take for granted every day. Computers in particular have changed the way that business is done, how we learn in school, communication with friends and family, the way that we receive and share news and events, and pretty much every other facet of our lives.
It is unimaginable to me now how I used to have to pour through the limited resources offered at the library, taking hours of research to glean the slightest bit of information to write papers. I started high school in 1990 (yes, I am 33 for those doing the math!), and we had one room with about 20 computers in it at that time. My early expossure consisted of learning how to type. Now, 20 years later, we litterly have the world at our finger tips!
