First Post

As i have read from many students in the class, this is also my fist internet blog. My name is Alessandro Iuliani, Al for short. I am a sophomore studying international Business. I never really cared for blogging, but i hope i learn to like it quick.

The one thing that really amazed me about computers is the size in general. As we all have seen pictures of the Harvard Mark 1, a computer the size of an entire room and what they were capable of doing versus the new computers that most of us have today that are as small as a seven inch screen and are capable of doing much more then what we use them for.

As most of the computers in the past were really expensive and had a specific use, today we have our own laptops that are capable of doing many things at once. We dont even notice when our computers run scans while we are surfing the internet, or while we write a paper. The evolution of computers has been incredible to witness and will be even more amazing to see where it goes.

  1. I think your blog has some really great point. I personally feel so lucky to be born and living in this time period. We are so lucky to have everything that we have. Think how different out lives would be if we didnt have those 7 inch computers that can do all that the room size ones did and more. I think we would be living in a much different world and would be doing things in a much harder way dont you agree

  2. Hi Al. This was also my first time blogging, and like you I also help to grow a stronger liking for it. My first blog was pertaining to the evolution of the computers as well. It was interesting to me how a computer was made up of many machines so long ago. Also like you said, our computers can do so much more, and all at one time. I'm proud of the advancements people have made in technology for our sake.

  3. I think about the size of computers all the time too. It is so crazy that when technology comes out it is huge and then they find a way to get all of it in a tiny package. When iPods came out there was only one size and now they have ridiculously small ones. I'm also completely fascinated by the super thin laptops that are now out.
