Hi, everyone. My name is Si Yan Yang. I am from China and I am international student. This is the first year I study in EMU. Once I have used blog to post something that I would like to talk about, but it is surprise for me to use blog in computer course. I knew the computer history in last two classes and obviously, it is a long developing history. The new age gives computer a new talent brain. When people are indulged in using search engine and sharing services of entertainment, more and more people pay attention to the volume of their computer. It is always called laptop. Now I want to talk about the developing history of laptop.
In 1979, the first laptop which called Grid Compass 1190 was appeared and it was invited by British William Moggridge who worked for Grid Company, this was a new trial in computer history. Hello Si Yan Yang. My name is Jeff Geer and I found your post to be very intriguing. I have learned about the history of the computer but have never really looked into the history of the laptop. I have also been fortunate enough to have worked on an 80s IBM laptop. This was only a few years ago and the owner still used the laptop on an every day basis. I was quite shocked when I found this out.
ReplyDeleteThe development of the laptop, much as the computer simply amazes me. If you look at pictures of the first labtop, they are as bulky as my current monitor. It is also worth noting that the screen is barely larger than a floppy disk. To think how far laptops have come that this once cutting edge invention is now a stapple in nearly every building on campus.
ReplyDeleteHi Si Yan Yang, I'm Anna. Your blog was really interesting to me because I have a laptop. I bought a Macbook when I came to college. It is so crazy that technology now comes in such a small package. The laptops are so small and light now. See you in class.
ReplyDeleteHi, yan yang! I saw the old Mac at Ann Arbor before! As I remember it just for typing.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to find out about the history of the laptop. we often talk about how far computers have come, but neglect to talk about the laptop. If I was able to work with a laptop when it first was created, I would have never guessed that it would evolve into what many of us use today. All the different functions of laptops amazes me. I can't wait to see what the future will being to this popular innovation.
