Hello class! my name is Henry Coleman and I come to Eastern Michigan as a business major. This is my freshmen year and so far I am enjoying my time here learning and participating in the activities Eastern Michigan has to offer. I hope that you all will enjoy my time in this class as I will enjoy yours and hopefully we will come together to succeed. Blogging is very new to me and I hope to do good in it plus learn all I can about computers and the inventor who help made them like tthey are today. I hope the Informational Systems class to have a major effect on my business career.
So far in class I learn that an invention called the counting board was made in 300 B.C. and was use to make faster calculations the majority of the time this invention was use for playing games. It was usually made out of stones or wood and the counting devices was beads, pebbles, and even colored sand. The oldest known counting board was dicovered in the Greek Island of island of Salamis. The counting board would soon be advance to an invention called the abacus by the 1500's the abacus was highly use in Europe as well as Asia. The abacus would soon be use for arithmetic and still widely use by merchants, traders, and clerks in Asia and Africa.
Computers was invented and advance through the 1970's, 1980's , and 1990's. In class technology proved how successful a country can be when World War 2 begin also known as the technoloical war where both sides advance their technology to combat with other. Without knowing of the other country advances both sides was advancing computers and making them easier to use in the war instead of the manual labor that was proved. Computer such as Harvard Mark 1 which was invented by Howard Aiken and Grace Hopper in Havard University in 1944 and was able to mathmatical equation as well as remember previous problem. This technology will decide the outcome of battles as it did in World War 2. This computer help give an accurate measurement of the target and also decode any language that was spoken from the enemy.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your first attempt at blogging. When creating your blog posts, please keep in mind the requirements outlined for this activity. For example, I noticed this post is missing three solid paragraphs of text. Also your link points to www.google.com, not exactly relevant to the topic. You still have time to edit this blog post and re-publish the changes.
