WHY DO WE TEXT
I think that it is really funny to think about why we text so much. Most of the time a text can only hold 160 characters and when you think about it, that is not that much. At http://wcco.com/goodquestion/texting.calling.good.2.845982.html people where asked why they text. Some people said they text when they are in class. Some say to avoid awkward conversations. Studies show that in a month the average American sends more texts then they make phone calls. I personally have mixed feelings about texting. Yes I text a lot. I usually text when I cant be on the phone or when the person I'm texting cant be on the phone.
Some people on the site made a good point that if you are talking on the phone people can over hear your conversation, but when texting its kind of for your eyes only. I believe that texting is taking over as far as most popular ways of communication.

That is soo true, texting is phenomenally huge as of late, eventhough it hasnt been perfected, like the limit of characters users may input. I myself text more than i call. (As reported by CNET's Jennifer Guevin, the study also found that "texting took a driver's focus away from the road for an average of 4.6 seconds--enough time...to travel the length of a football field at 55 mph.") thats a scary thought, i will admitt that i have been guilty of texting and driving, as bluetooth enabled hands free calling, maybe the next tthing to look for in the tech/cell industry is a way to enable drivers to hands free text!?
ReplyDeletees I strongly agree with this blog post. A phone can usually hold 160 characters, but that doesn't matter when a person's phone can send a multiple page text. Texting is more direct and it gets straight to the point in a conversation. It's a way of communicating when a person can't talk.
ReplyDeleteFirst word is supposed to be Yes. I forgot the "Y".
ReplyDeleteTexting is one of the best forms of communication. If it wasn't for texting I wouldnt be able to have the private conversations I have today. There also good to send out a message in need just in case of emergency.
