Computers and My Life

I can't live without my computer! I guess almost all students have the same feeling as I do. Today, computers plays a more and more role in our daily life. We apply school online, pay our tuition online, do our homework with Office software. We read news online, play online games, enjoy video chips on youtube, and so on. Whether we are doing our business or entertainment, we can not live with out computers.
As I remember, several years ago, when I was in China, in one English class, we were listening President Bush talked about computers and network at US. He said in his period he hope every students could enjoy internet in class. Right now, in China, almost all students in big and small cities can enjoy internet, too. That's really exciting!
Although computers are widely used in both China and US. There are also a lot of difference. At US students are usually required to do their homework with computers. In China, teachers prefer their students do homework by hands. In case you get some "resource" online instead of from yourselves.

  2. I agree that computers have become a very important part of everyday life in America. I personally could live without ever logging onto a computer again, but I also know doing that would make my life considerably harder. I also find it interesting to look at how different cultures use computers. As U.S. citizens I think many of us do not realize how lucky we are to be able to use the internet as an unlimited resource, where in countries like China a lot of censorship still exists.

  3. Yes, it is. Although Google China will keep their business in China, it's ridiculous. As an search engine, they do much more than they should do.

  4. I lived in Palestine for 10 years, and teachers there also do the same thing which they force the students to do everything by hand. No computer to type your paper, or even a calculator, but in the end it was very benefitial for me.

  5. I agree that computers have become seemingly unavoidable in our everyday lives. Six months ago I broke my laptop. Previous to the damage, I used my laptop for everything: to check the weather, use e-mail, do school activities, & pay my bills. Not a day went by without at least an hour of computer time. However, when my computer broke I did not have it fixed for months. The longer I went without a laptop the less I missed it. In fact, my life actually became a bit more productive without it. As much as I though I couldn't get by without my laptop, I learned that it is actually quite possible to do so.
