Human–computer interaction
Last class, the professor talked about human- computer interaction (HIC). HIC helps build a close relationship between people and computers.
And there is a system called user- centered design. It's a modern, widely practiced design philosophy. It is rooted in the idea that users must take center-stage in the design of any computer system. One interesting thing is that scientists should study ethnography of the environment, because the users will be interacting with the system.
When I was doing the team paper, scenario 4, I found it is widely used in fashion industry for designing. A fashion designer need use both software and hardware. Those software and hardware make up an user interface, which to realize his or her compose. For fashion industry, the system is called computer-aided design (CAD). It is used of computer technology for the design of objects. CAD can be used to design curve and figures in two-dimensional ("2D") space; or curves, surfaces and solids in three-dimensional ("3D") objects.

Another thing that is interesting regarding HIC is , particularly in speech interaction, is designing systems that can account for differences in dialect and pronunciation. I.E. designing a speech controlled system that can be controlled accurately by someone with a Southern accent AND by someone with a Midwest accent.
