An example of a sentence you could type into your browser would be the following: "I want to see a funny movie and then eat at a good Mexican restaurant. What are my options?" The browser will then analyze your response, search the Internet for all possible answers, and then organize the results for you. This is known as the semantic web, which means that the meaning of information and services on the web is defined. The information will be understood by computers, and therefore, they will be able to perform more of the "tedious work" involved in finding, combining, and acting upon information on the web.
Will this make us lazier? Maybe. However, I feel the damage has already been done as far as the ability to retrieve information quickly and easily, so why not make it easier? It will save us more of our valuable time because it will be able to aid in decision-making. That's right, it will be like having our own personal assistant. The browser is going to have the ability to learn our interests. After your browser learns more about you, it will be able to answer questions for you, like "where should I go for lunch?" It will then look through records of what you like, what you don't like, and where you are currently located in order to making a suggestion for you.Picture:
I think the idea of web 3.0 is awesome. Though it is a little scary that the computers will be able to process and understand our language enough to digest it to that point. A good thing about putting full sentences in might be that it will be easier for everyone to use and understand. Also it will make searchs faster by popping up with all your results at once.
ReplyDeleteThe illustration is so cute. Just "one" difference between, it bring a new generation!
ReplyDeleteWithout the great changes that we have in our technology today we wouldn't have the great features that we have today. All upgrades to me are great upgrades especially in technology.
ReplyDeleteI think this is really cool, but has a couple draw backs no one seems to have identified...i like being able to choose between web sites when im searching for something on the web. I like being able to see what my search has brought up, sometimes the unrelated sites are cool, or worth looking at anyways. That said, i cant wait for web 3.0 it will definatly revolutionize the way people use the internet!
ReplyDeleteI have just got annoyed with Web 2.0, now there is talk of Web 3.0? Haha, just kidding. I cannot wait for Web 3.0. Searching the web will be even easier and more precise. Instead of searching through millions of search results, they should be more precisely matched to what I want. It is only a matter of time.
