Apple iPad

A few weeks back in class we discussed the upcoming release of the Apple iPad. Well, the wait is over. The iPad hit stores this past week and immediately sold out. However, the iPad is meeting mixed reviews.

A winner with the general public, the iPad met hoards of people waiting in line to purchase the product. Apple stores reported customers clapping and cheering in line awaiting its debut. Many customers purchased iPads not just for themselves, but were so caught up in the emotion and excitment in the store that many customers ended up purchasing multiple iPads.

While overall the product launch was a success, many people still have their doubts about the iPad. The product launched this week came equipped with wifi. However, Apple plans to release a newer version equipped for 3G that many Apple patrons are waiting for. Another snag with the iPad appeal to the public is that many cannot justify the purchase. Most Apple customers already own an iPod or iPod touch as well as laptop. The iPad seems redundent.

Whether or not the iPad will be a long term success or a flash in the pan, only time will tell. If you would like to read more about this topic visit this website: http://http://www.usatoday.com/tech/products/2010-04-07-ipad07_ST_N.htm

  2. In my view, the iPad looks like a big iPhone. What's the difference between them? More application can be used? People can not use iPad to make phone call. I haven't used it. But the outlook is not that attractive to me.

  4. This was a good post. I agree with you all though, I don't think it makes much sense to get this because it doesn't seem to be much different from any smart phone. Along with the size being just bigger than one of those e-readers.

  5. I think that the ipad looks interesting to look at a few times, but i dont think it would be something worth purchasing it, its just and iphone but on a larger scale, i have had problems with apple products, i am on my third ipod. i feel like they release things way to early, because these types of products that you spend alot money on, they shouldnt have to put out second and third generations, the reason they are doing that is to look at the problems they have had with the other models.

  6. from my research for the ipad i think that it wouldn't be a great investment to have because to me it seems like it is just a giant ipod touch. my opinion is if you are a techy person then not to get it.

  7. There are definitely some fundamental differences between the ipad and the ipod touch. The ipad has a much more powerful processor than the ipod touch and also has a screen with WAY higher resolution (close to 1080i). Also, there's a plethora of apps that are ipad exclusive. This device to me seems like an in-between device. If people want to check e-mail or facebook they have cell phones. If people want to surf the web they probably have a laptop or desktop. There's no denying the ipad is an extremely cool device with a lot of promise, but until they release a new version with some unique features, I don't see the point.
